Halloween!

Halloween is in just a few short hours, and I thought I'd share our pumpkins...we opted to get one large pumpkin this year since carving them is tedious when you have 6 to do!
this is my husbands and  kids pumpkin, they thought a "straining face" was halarious. wait till you see the backside....
no comment.

Anyway. I had a nice relaxing weekend after a hellish work week. I finished up the mug rugs / coasters  for the kids teachers, and whipped up a Curious George  pillowcase for a neighbor's son.  I also started my Xmas Tree Pants! Yay.  Here's some photos.
crap. that came out sideways. oh well. you get the general idea. well...off to order some pizza!

Celebrate Color October!

So I love Rachel's blog, Celebrate Color. I love color- I still say my favorite color is rainbow, like I did when I was five. It's still true. Anyway, I decided to join in on her contest for Celebrate Color, using the season as inspiration. I made a mini quilt out of my scrap bin using my favorite fall colors...
Go on over to her blog to check it out!

my favorite number...

today is the 17th. 17 is my favorite number, and i cant really explain why, i just like it. any how, i've been finishing projects, and starting new ones. i finished my fabric pumpkins- i think i ended up making 10, though i think we have 6 left after handing some out to neighbors and teachers. I finally finished the rainbow quilt and though i like it, i dont love it. The binding turned out awful. It is a quilt to snuggle under, not a show quilt. Anyway, I did find some time to play with my Prince Charming fabric, and have an almost finished quilt top thanks to Katie @ I used her cross quilt idea to use up most of the charm packs I bought....

autumn...

the weather has been nice lately, though the trees seem to be waiting to change all the way to orange...Ive been wanting to get out and get some pictures, maybe this weekend. Anyway, i've been slaving away at the biochem, and trying to finish old projects. I've finished a random project I'm thinking might find it's way into the Celebrate Color blog...I'm also almost done w some fabric pumpkins I absolutely had to make. The rainbow quilt is next on the list to finish...then I'm going full force into xmas! Anyway, here are some Halloween placemats I made....in August. lol
